center of accreditation and quality assurance of the swiss universities

Microengineering is the art and science of creating, designing, integrating and manufacturing miniature components, instruments and systems. The main characteristic of this domain is its multidisciplinary nature: a microengineering system integrates electronic and mechanical elements, together with computational, chemical and optical elements, as well as various materials. Furthermore, the device's manufacturing aspects are as important to microengineering as its function.

The Master degree in Microengineering of the EPFL with its five orientations in Robotics and Autonomous Systems, Production Technologies, Biomedical Microengineering, Applied Photonics and Micro- and nanosystems offers a unique education, which opens a wide range of career opportunities for young engineers. If you have an interest in technology, a scientifically oriented mind with an aptitude for synthesis, if you are practical and creative, wish to have a global vision of modern technology, and like to make decisions, then you will find Microengineering an exciting challenge offering many opportunities to develop and exploit your potential.

The master in Microengineering of the EPFL is an ideal training towards innovative applications in highly attractive sectors, e.g. portable communication devices, biomedical devices, and watch industry.
